TVOB’s have a country wide infrastructure with offices in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth (see contact us)

TVOB’s have a number of DSNG units available

Q: What is an MPU?

An MPU is a small OB unit (Multi-Purpose Unit) typically with 5 cameras

Q: How many cameras in each OB van?

Large OB units come standard with 18 cameras and MPU’s typically have 5 cameras. The units are however very flexible and can take many more cameras depending on client requirements 

Q: What are the various lenses available?

HD: Wide angle 11x4.5, 17:1, 20:1, 22:1, 70:1, 72:1, 86:1

SD: 11:1, 14:1, 19:1, 70:1

Q: Does TVOB have HD facilities

All OB units are HD except MPU 1D (Durban) which is SD

Q: What is a flyaway kit?

Our flyaway kit is a light weight production unit that can be packed in suitcases so that it can be flown anywhere in the world at minimum freight cost.

Q: What is the size of your flyaway kit?

The flyaway kit can accommodate a maximum of 8 cameras.

Q: Is it possible to see the OB Vans on production?

Yes it can be arranged – the units can also be viewed when parked at the OB base

Q: How are the units powered?

The units come standard with a power generator. Fully redundant broadcast power can be arranged if required

Q: Is it possible to hire lighting equipment?

TVOB’s have a limited stock of lighting equipment. TVOB’s can however refer clients to lighting companies

Q: Do you provide C-Band Uplinks?

No, but we can source.

Yes we have a comprehensive array of HD microwave links both mobile and fixed to supply all your connectivity needs.
