There is something big happening down in the Eastern Cape.
When driving into the entrance of the SABC premises in Port Elizabeth, the first thing you notice is a lot of construction going on.
After nearly a year of knocking, hammering, grinding a brand new studio complex has risen from the dust of the old.
The complex will be the new home for the  Umhlobo Wenene FM station.
The old much smaller studio complex was re-designed and reworked. The new complex facility comprise of a much larger floor space, a larger shop front glass enclosure and ultra modern design.
Fan’s can now visit their station and see their much loved presenters at work outside the studio complex.
Painting and electrical installations are being completed. Two desk consoles are being assembled in the studio.
End of February 2015, installation team will be spending time with us and installing two Studer desks and finalise testing them for live on air program.
Mr Vuyo Nyembezi ; Regional Manager, Broadcast Facilities said management and staff are extremely excited to start broadcasting from the new studio facility by end of April 2015.
