The UFC circus stops off at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, this weekend for UFC 312. In the main event, Du Plessis faces Strickland for the second time in his career as he looks to maintain his undefeated streak in the promotion.
The last time the duo clashed in the octagon was for the middleweight strap and du Plessis took it off the brash American via split decision.
The decision was hotly debated as Strickland outs truck du Plessis, but the latter arguably did more damage and executed six takedowns to none.
With former middleweight king Israel Adesanya having fallen far from the throne after three consecutive losses and Strickland having dispatched the dangerous Paulo Costa last June, a rematch was always on the cards. Du Plessis is under no illusions as to the challenge posed by Strickland.
