CAF clears Fecafoot President of all ethical violations charges

Date: Feb 21, 2025

President of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) Samuel Eto'o, has officially been cleared of all charges by the African Football Confederation (CAF) after facing sanctions related to ethical violations.

Eight months after appealing against a previous ruling from the CAF's disciplinary committee for "serious breaches of ethical principles" due to his association with betting operator 1xBet, Eto'o has now been exonerated by the appeals jury.

The CAF appeals jury overturned the 200 000 dollars fine imposed on him, indicating that the original disciplinary committee lacked jurisdiction in his case. This decision marks a significant victory for the former FC Barcelona striker, who continues to lead the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot).
