Zimbabwe to miss key players in four-day clash against SA

Date: Jun 2, 2025

Zimbabwe will be without several key players for their upcoming four-day warm-up match against South Africa (SA), starting on the 3rd of June in Sussex.

The 15-member squad for the fixture was confirmed on Tuesday, with the team staying on in England following their historic Test match against the hosts. The match is part of SA’s preparations for the World Test Championship (WTC) final.

However, Zimbabwe will be missing some notable names. Fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani is currently in India with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the IPL playoffs, while all-rounder Sikandar Raza is preparing for the upcoming Major League Cricket (MLC) season. Richard Ngarava has been granted rest ahead of a busy international schedule.

Despite the absentees, the warm-up game presents an opportunity for Zimbabwe’s younger players to gain valuable experience against a top-tier side.
