Jordan Henderson, Portuguese-born Everton players lay flowers at Diogo Jota memorial

Former Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson returned to Anfield on Friday to offer condolences for his former teammate Diogo Jota at a memorial set up outside the stadium

Jota and his brother Andre Silva, who was also a footballer with Penafiel in the Portuguese second division, died in a car crash in northwestern Spain early on Thursday, when their Lamborghini veered off the road and burst into flames.

Henderson joined Liverpool fans in laying down flowers for Jota, who helped Liverpool to a 20th League title mere weeks ago, the same number he wore on the back of his jersey. Portuguese-born Everton players Beto and Youssef Chermiti also laid down flowers as representatives of the blue half of Merseyside Jota, 28, had just married his partner of 10 years in late June, with whom he had three children.
