Hendricks, who had previously represented the Joburg Super Kings, will head to the Mother City in 2025 after an intense bidding war that included the Pretoria Capitals.

The 35-year-old recently struck consecutive half-centuries for the Proteas in the T20I series against Ireland in Abu Dhabi, and it was that hot form that seemed to make him a top attraction.

MI Cape Town, who has taken the wooden spoon in the first two seasons, further strengthened their batting depth after also capturing former Proteas international Colin Ingram for $10,000.

The third season of the competition kicks off on the 9th of  January 2025 when defending champions, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, take on MI Cape Town at St George's Park in Gqeberha.
