SA national rugby team captain vows team will seek to win any way it can

Date: Jun 4, 2025

Sharks flanker and captain of South Africa’s (SA) national rugby team, the Springboks, Siya Kolisi, says the Durban outfit will seek to win any way they can, when they face the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld Stadium

The two teams will clash in the city of Pretoria on Saturday, for the semi-finals of the United Rugby Championship. The Sharks ousted 2023 Champions, Munster, in the quarter-finals in Durban last Saturday in Rugby's version of a penalty shootout, and Kolisi says that shows the lengths his side is prepared to go to get into the final.

“That’s what we want, people want to go and see the next game because they think that this happened. Guys want to celebrate, they want to do what they do, let people be themselves. We all have our own ways of dealing with stuff on the field and we can’t box each other in and we can’t all be the same. We are not robots, we are human beings and we express ourselves,” Kolisi said.
