Sundowns defender downplays his notable contribution to the team ahead of the CAF Champions League final

Date: May 23, 2025

Mamelodi Sundowns defender Mosa Lebusa this week downplayed his notable contribution to the team ahead of the CAF Champions League final.

The 32-year-old is finishing off the season strong with regular game time having initially appeared a fringe player under coach Miguel Cardoso until teammate Lucas Suarez came under heavy criticism recently.

Lebusa started both semi-final legs against Al Ahly and proved his worth in Cardoso's eyes, but the player was modest when this was pointed out.

“I think everyone is everyone is very important to the team. On my side I have out been playing , and what I do is to support everyone who is playing and when my team comes I must grab it with both hands.

The coaching staff believe in me and tell me I am very important in the team and it showed when they put me   in the semis.”
