Proteas Women head coach Mandla Mashimbyi  has expressed enthusiasm about the newly selected squad, highlighting the combination of youth and experience as crucial to the team's dynamic.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has unveiled the Proteas Women squad ready to face hosts Sri Lanka and India in an eagerly anticipated One-Day International (ODI) Tri-Series from April  27 to May 11, all set within the iconic R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.

In a bold selection move, three rising stars from the SA U19 team have received their first-ever ODI call-ups. Karabo Meso and Seshnie Coach Mandla Mashimbyi is happy to have youngsters in the team, “As you know freshness brings new, good energy with it I think having these youngsters brings great energy. I like the fact that they bring this fearless type of mindset to them. "Obviously, getting the young ones in the squad is to expose them to international cricket as much as possible. Because I see them as people that are going to be carrying the flag going forward into the future. I like the fact that they bring this type of fearless mindset they bring great energy and the team during the camp actually made feel that they belong as well so they already feel that they are part of the team which is good to see.”
