Fury laughs off Usyk's claim about weight

Date: May 16, 2024

World Boxing Council(WBC) champion Tyson Fury laughed off Oleksandr Usyk's claim that his weight loss is down to nerves ahead of Saturday's undisputed world heavyweight title clash in Riyadh.

Thirty-five year old Fury, knows well enough what this fight means a place among the very greats of boxing history. Usyk holds the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO belts while Fury has held the WBC title since 2020.

The 'Gypsy King' as Fury is known, hit back when he arrived on stage for the rivals' first public appearance since arriving in Saudi Arabia, “ I predict that somebody has got to go and it's going to be that team over there, unfortunately for them. Oleksandr Usyk is a great fighter, Olympic gold medallist, cruiserweight world champion, heavyweight world champion.

But unfortunately for him he's coming up against the great Tyson Fury,  in the era of me. Even if he had 20 million people screaming his name, they cannot fight for him on the night. When there are two men in there on the night it's going to be very daunting when he's got the undertaker in the ring with him.
