“Game of football its like a religion in Liberia”

Liberian football legend, James Debbah plied his trade in his native country (Liberia), West African neighbour Cameroon and France in Europe.  Debbah now serves in the Liberia Football Association (LFA) as the Head of Technical scheme.

Speaking to Channel Africa Sport, the Monrovia born former forward says Football in Liberia is like a religion,”You know in Liberia i would say  Liberians are a soccer crazy  we love the game of football its like a religion every kid basically in Monrovia wants to be a soccer player.:

The newly appointed Head of Technical scheme of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) Debbah  explains his current role, “All the transition have been difficult i would say difficult in a sense because I  miss the game to be factual I miss the game to be factual but when I retire I when eventually I went to coaching I coached the national team for three and after coaching what I have I am the head of the technical development scheme which is scouting the young generation of players.

“I have been working basically with the under 12 under 14 and under 15. I am head of that department in the Liberian football association.”
