The federation's last headline sponsor was Telkom, a telecommunications giant, back in 2011. Over the past two weeks, SSA has successfully secured two new partners - first signing Fila as their apparel sponsor and now landing a R10 million ($570 000) deal with Bombela.
This sponsorship includes an option to extend for an additional three years. SSA Chief Executive Officer Shwan Adriaanse say that this financial support allows the federation to worry less about funding and focus more on training and their core activities in the poo
“For us to come back ad today we are announcing a partnership with Bombela we are pleased and very happy about that. And of course it means for us we can stress less about the financial aspect with the athletes and coaches focusing on the preparations for competitions and making sure they keep performing on the worlds stage.
The seasoned sports administrator told the national broadcaster that Swimming SA hopes to extend the partnership for several more years, with a long-term vision leading up to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games and beyond.

We want more that a year to develop world class athletes for the Olympics its an 8 years process. We are happy with their willingness to come on board now and we continue to engage”
