Botswana national senior men team is step away to reach AFCON finals

Date: Nov 19, 2024

Forty-three-year-old Botswana national senior men team interim coach, Morena Ramoreboli is just one step away from becoming the first South African to coach and take the neighbours to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.

Ramoreboli is a native of Free State, who went to Botswana some few years ago to coach the Botswana premiership side, Jwaneng Galaxy. But his exceptional performance at the club captured the attention of the country's football association.

The Zebras, as Botswana senior national football team is affectionately known in soccer circles, are in Cairo, Egypt ahead of their last Group C qualifying match this afternoon at 3pm CAT against The Pharaohs. But Ramoreboli is confident that his boys will do a splendid job in Egypt,”
To be honest with you, if I were to put it in an arrogant way, I will say the generation that the country has currently of players are professionals. They want to win. They go an extra mile in making sure that they get results for the country. I still believe and I hope that we will come back home with something.”
