SAMFA gears up to host first ever AFCON in Soweto

The South African Mini-Football Association (SAMFA) is gearing up to host the first ever Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Soweto, in South Africa's Gauteng Province from the of September 20- 29.

This prestigious continental spectacle will feature 14 nations such as Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Uganda, Cameroon, Mauritania and Egypt including the host country South Africa. Speaking to Channel Africa Sport, SAMFA President Kagiso Sandamela says preparations are going very well,” In 2023 we had the opportunity to bid to host the Africa Mini Football 2024, and we won the bid to host. Preparations are going well we are just waiting for the countries to submit their arrival times and we can get the show going.”
