SASCOC Commission Chairperson expresses delight with Team performance in Paris

Date: Sep 16, 2024

Chairperson of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) Athletes Commission Khotso Mokoena expressed his delight with Team South Africa's performance at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.

Team SA earned six medals across both events. The long jump legend, now in his final year as chairperson before the upcoming elections, commended the athletes' dedication and hopes their achievements can serve as a foundation for even greater success at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics,” I am excited on the performances of our Olympians and our Paralympians.

I think if we first look at the Olympians, the number of athletes that we have that are young, I'm particularly excited about the fact that we've got a lot of young athletes that are going to be going through and showing up in 2028 and 2032.

"If you look at the performances that we have, we had a lot of finalists, top 5's, top 10. We had a lot of youngsters getting medals, so I'm quite excited with that, the fact that we did better than 2020."
