“Banyana Banyana must follow the game plan to secure a win against Tanzania”

Date: Jul 11, 2025

Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis says the team must follow the game plan to secure a win in their second WAFCON Group stage clash against Tanzania tonight.

The defending champions will look to maintain their winning momentum coming into this clash as they are fresh off a 2 nil victory over Ghana.

Speaking at the pre-match presser, Ellis says their previous record against the Twiga Stars does not count at this point in the tournament, as anything is possible in football, “We need to make sure that again we don’t concede because we are going to create opportunities and take those opportunities we need to be a lot more in a tacky third when we are there and we take our chances cause we had couple of chances against Ghana that could have sealed the game and they hit the cross bar after that  so we could have well up the distance so we got to make sure that we do that yes chances do matches but goals do as well  we got to make sure that importantly, yes we analyse like they analyse us but we also concentrate and what we need to do to make sure that we get those things right
