SA's Ramphadi thrilled after historic Wimbledon silver finish

Date: Jul 14, 2025

South African (SA) wheelchair tennis star Donald Ramphadi says it is a dream come true to have reached the Wimbledon final and walked away with a silver medal in the quad doubles alongside his British partner Gregory Slade.

This comes after the pair lost 6-0, 6-2 to Israel's Guy Sasson and Dutch partner Niels Vink.

Ramphadi says he is still in disbelief that he and Slade got to experience their first Wimbledon final.

"I am happy with the position. I don't think anyone believed we would make the finals, and to see us in the final is just an unbelievable feeling. I am very excited about it," he said.
