Speaking to Channel Africa Sport, Ndong reflected on his tenure as the Scorpions' coach, noting how far the team has come.
"I think we created what is being utilised today because, as the national team coach, we had limited professionals playing for The Gambia. Back then, teams like Senegal and Morocco had just returned from the World Cup and came to play against us. I remember Morocco’s fourth game after the World Cup was against The Gambia. At the time, we had only three or four professional players combined with our local team," he said.
