“No competition for CAF President if he decides to go for second term”

Date: Sep 16, 2024

President of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) Idriss Diallo says CAF President Patrice Motsepe will have no competition if he decides to go for the second term.

Speaking to SABC Sport from his posh FIF head office in Treichville in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Diallo says Motsepe has transformed African football in the last four years, so much so that continuity is needed at CAF.

CAF will go into elections again next year for the presidential and other Exco positions. Motsepe is yet to indicate if he will be going for the next term, but Diallo says he's entirely behind him,”If he decided to go, he will win and I am sure of it. I will support him. Yesterday I was with him at my presidents house, he was received by the Head of State and my hard of state said Motsepe  you do a lot for my country and that’s why I give you this award. In recognition for or what he does for the country. So a the first soldier for Motsepe , if he wants to go somewhere I will go with him.”
