A Springbok press release on Sunday revealed that the two-Test tighthead prop had returned an "adverse analytical finding" during testing conducted by SAIDS. The statement also confirmed that Ntlabakanye would not be part of the touring squad.
SAIDS Chief Executive Officer Khalid Galant clarified that Ntlabakanye is not provisionally suspended in terms of the Anti-Doping Rules, as is normally the case. A date for the player’s hearing has yet to be set.
