Danish mountain biker, Annika Langvad, won the women's race in the ABSA Cape Epic  together with her partner Sofia Gomez Villafane of Argentina. This was Landvad's sixth win in the Epic and she said she rode most of the stages in incredible pain.

“ This has been absolutely crazy it did not go according to plan i have been in so much pain like really in so much pain and it has not been fun it has been really tough i am happy to be here and it has been an honour to be alongside Sofia its been good but man i have been suffering.”
