Tiger confirmed his mother's passing with a post on social media. He did not cite a cause or say where she died. 

As he played his way to being one of the greatest golfers of all time, Kultida was a constant presence at Tiger's golf events.

When accepting the Bob Jones Award from the United States Golf Association 2024, Tiger made sure to express his gratitude for his mother's ongoing support.

Born Kultilda Punsawad in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, on Sept. 30, 1946, she met Earl Woods in her homeland while he was on military assignment with the US and she was a secretary in Bangkok.

She immigrated to the  US in 1968. The couple married in New York and eventually, they moved to Cypress, California, where Tiger was born in 1975.

For 37 years until Earl Woodsthen's death from cancer in 2006, the couple were married 37 years until his death from cancer in May 2006 at 74.

While his father was credited for Tiger's competitive spirit, Tiger called his mother the "enforcer."
