Namibia to use remaining AFCON games to prepare for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers

Date: Nov 13, 2024

With Namibia already out of contention for the qualification spot in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, head coach Colin Benjamin says they will use their remaining games to prepare for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where they have a realistic chance.

The Brave Warriors play their penultimate Group J game against group leaders Cameroon at the Orlando stadium, south of Johannesburg this afternoon at 15h00.

They are still searching for their first point in this campaign. In the World Cup qualifiers that will resume in March next year, they are second in Group H, with eight points from four matches, just two points behind Tunisia.

Most definitely, I think our focus now is on building and giving ur game another site to it , in preparation to those world cup games. We have had a good talk with the players today and looking it thatm and this is basically a build up to tat, and looking forward to that.”
