This after he secured 45 votes elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Kabwe. Mweemba will run the affairs of FAZ from 2025 to 2029, succeeding Andrew Kamanga, who led FAZ from 2016 to 2025.
Kamanga polled 20 votes, former FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala managed 17 votes, while Francis Hafwiti and Emmanuel Munaile failed to register a single vote.
The elections were conducted under the strict supervision of the world footballs governing body FIFA, Africa’s mother body CAF and southern Africa COSAFA delegation led by FIFA's Senior Manager for Member Associations Governance, Ahmed Harraz.
