The Blue Soldiers will battle it out in the Nile Conference scheduled for May 17 to 25, 2025 in Kigali, Rwanda, where they will challenge Nairobi City Thunder from Kenya, Al Ahly Tripoli of Egypt and the hosts APR.

Speaking to Channel Africa Sport, Mothiba says they want to play top quality oppositions out of the country to put them through the test, “The one thing is to play as many games as we can together and  we are lucky that we are in season and we have played up to 14 games before we get to Kigali . The other thing is we want to play against top quality opposition.

We are playing in the tournament in two week’s time , were we got teams outside of South Africa which will put us through the test.”

Mothiba, is a respected name in SA Basketball with national team experience, unpacks how his massive knowledge of the game will help MBB in a tough continental spectacle,”

‘With my experience, our coach and management they have been there and have done that. Bit with my experience playing outside the country will be tough . My job is to calm the guys and tell them nothing will be easy. Africa is tough as I mentioned and it will take everything  we have to be successful.”
