Uganda U-17 Coach confident of comeback after heavy defeat to Morocco

Date: Mar 31, 2025

Uganda U-17 head coach Brian Ssenyondo has vowed that his team will bounce back after their disappointing 5-0 loss to hosts Morocco in their opening group match at the TotalEnergies CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite the heavy defeat, Ssenyondo remains optimistic, insisting that the setback is “not the end of the road” as Uganda continues its quest to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Looking ahead to their crucial clash against regional rivals Tanzania, Ssenyondo emphasized the team’s determination: “We know what is at stake. We must pick ourselves up and fight. This match is a do-or-die situation, and we are ready to give everything to keep our World Cup dream alive.”

Uganda’s young squad now faces a defining moment in the tournament, with their match against Tanzania serving as both a survival battle and an opportunity to prove they belong among Africa’s elite at the youth level.
