The event will feature trail and peace runs tomorrow, with the main marathon taking place on Sunday.

The marathon’s 42.2 kilometre route will take athletes through various suburbs, starting in Newlands and finishing in Green Point. Areas affected by road closures include the Central Business District, Green Point, District Six, Sea Point, Woodstock, Salt River, Observatory, Mowbray, Claremont, Rondebosch, and Newlands.

Authorities have designated certain roads along the route as no-parking zones, with vehicles parked in these areas subject to towing.

The marathon is currently being assessed as a candidate for the prestigious Abbott World Marathon Majors series.
