Fassi felt frustrated against England last weekend, and wants to change that state of affairs against Wales.
The Springboks ran in four tries against England in their most important win on tour so far, and yet still felt stifled by the opponent and the occasion, in what was a tight test match. A player like the mercurial Fassi was one of those players, who felt the confines of test rugby, but with a mentor like Willie Le Roux, he was able to give the weekend's game some perspective...
I spoke to willie after the game and i said i probably touched the ball like four times and he said that’s test match rugby for you the challenge was good we didn't execute in the way we wanted to execute over thew weekend and during this week we looked at that and we have plan going into this game and how we want to play.”
The Boks are looking forward to the weekend's outing against Wales, where they are hoping to make a bit of space to allow their attacking game to take flight. Fassi says that coaches like, Tony Brown and Mzwandile Stick, are giving the backline the ability to make good choices, when the moment is right and when it's time to tighten up,” Tony has given us the freedom to be able to attack space when we see space and when we see opportunities and with coach stick it is just to be able to have a balance into your game when you've lost momentum and when you have momentum i think it is just being able to read what is happening in the game at a certain stage of the game and where you are on the field i think that is how i operate like always trying to put my forwards onto the front foot i think it is just being able to have a balance between your kicking game and attack.”
