Namwamba says the process, currently at the foundation stage is progressing well within the schedule to have it ready by December 2025.
The facility is touted to be the main complex for the 2027 AFCON finals being co-hosted with Uganda and Tanzania.
Meanwhile, Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega County, Jomo Kenyatta Mamboleo Stadium in Kisumu County, Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi, Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi, and the Kasarani Annex also in the capital, underwent inspection by CAF ahead of the 2024 CHAN tournament that will be held jointly by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania in September as a precursor to the Afcon 2027 preps.
