He has demonstrated exceptional leadership in communications, strategy formulation, business development, content syndication, marketing, events, and project management. At RadioHeads, he spearheaded innovative marketing and advertising initiatives, successfully securing major clients in the automotive, mobile phone, insurance, financial services, and public sectors. His team was responsible for creating major promotions for clients and radio stations, syndicating programs in sports, business, personal finance, and lifestyle, marking a significant technical and business development milestone.
He founded Manni Media, a consultancy that catered to clients in the multilateral sector, conferencing, and health and wellness while fostering mutually beneficial commercial partnerships between clients and various media outlets exploiting the intersection where traditional media meets digital.
With extensive experience across the industry, he has served as a talent, a manager, executive, entrepreneur, and investor. Beyond the media and creative sectors, he has gained insights as either partner or executive in corporate advisory, private equity, securities exchange, and property development.
His career highlights feature his role as part of the SABC team, where he anchored programs on 5FM, Metro FM, and SAFM. Additionally, he served as a presenter for SABC Sport's Blow By Blow (Boxing), the Comrades Marathon, Vodacom Rugby, and on SABC 1.
In the field of international organisations, he served as the campaign manager responsible for communications and project management for Professor Mthunzi Mdwaba’s candidacy for the Director General position at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) working with teams across South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Switzerland, Europe. In this role, he engaged with many of the 187 ILO member countries and managed stakeholder engagement and communications with various entities, including the United Nations (UN), ILO, International Organisation of Employers (IOE), SADC, IMEC, GRULAC, the African Union (AU), social partners, and ambassadors from both voting and influential countries.
In the corporate advisory and finance sector at Africa Desk, he established relationships with development finance institutions (DFIs) such as the IDC, DBSA, Land Bank, AfD, PIC, NEF, and other international financiers. Working with partners, his entrepreneurial ventures led to him to private equity in the housing and infrastructure space.
Additionally, he is contributing to the establishment of a foundation focused on training and educating communities to enhance their readiness to adequately respond to disaster-related challenges.
Ngqula holds a BA in Journalism from Rhodes University and possesses expertise in strategy development, marketing and communications, business development, sponsorship, budgeting, programming, and content syndication.
