This appearance is crucial for Zuma to ensure that his legal challenge against President Cyril Ramaphosa remains active on the court roll.

The case revolves around Zuma's allegations that Ramaphosa was complicit after the fact, following a complaint lodged by Zuma that his medical records were unlawfully disclosed by Prosecutor Billy Downer (SC) during his corruption trial, a violation of the National Prosecuting Authority Act.

The courtroom saga continues as Zuma, determined to keep his private prosecution case against Ramaphosa in motion, makes what is anticipated to be a concise court appearance.

This event marks the latest in a series of legal manoeuvres aimed at privately prosecuting the sitting president.

Last year, Ramaphosa managed to obtain a court order to halt Zuma's initial prosecution attempt, which Zuma challenged unsuccessfully in the High Court.

Following this setback, Zuma turned to the Supreme Court of Appeal, only to have his petition rejected. Undeterred, the former president has now requested a reconsideration by the Appeals Court, keeping the legal battle firmly in the public eye.
