Last month, a Congolese national was deported to Juba but South Sudan, alerted US authorities of the error. The situation reportedly created diplomatic tensions between the two countries, ultimately resulting in South Sudan accepting the deportee.
Channel Africa’s Correspondent in South Sudan, Duku Wilson says the circumstances surrounding the deportation are currently unclear.
“We are all waiting for the South Sudan government to make a statement on whether there was an arrangement for government to accept these deportees from Asian countries,” Wilson said.
