This statement made over the weekend follows the International Criminal Court's issuance of arrest warrants for several high-profile figures, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, and a deceased Hamas leader, all accused of war crimes.
Speaking in Hazyview, Mpumalanga, Minister Lamola underscored South Africa's support for the ICC's actions, emphasizing the country's belief in the eventual triumph of accountability and the rule of law.
"While justice may be slow, it is inevitable," Lamola stated, "The courageous decision by the ICC is a step towards the restoration of international justice and the rule of law, which we wholeheartedly welcome."
