Tensions are rising over President Emmerson Mnangagwa's intention to remain in power after his second term ends in 2028.

The country is bracing for what has been dubbed an 'uprising'. Kazembe has warned that the security services will not hesitate to deal with those who are behind attempts to cause political and security instability in that country.

“The government of Zimbabwe unreservedly denounces acts of terrorism and violence which unruly elements supported by a fringe group living outside the country intended to perpetrate on individuals and properties there by threatening the safety of the public . The country's security services firmly stand on the side of law and order and will not hesitate to take decisive action,” said Kazembe.
