It is reported that the child had been missing since last year November.
Police say the toddler was initially reported missing by his mother, but during investigations, police uncovered that the mother was actually involved in the disappearance of her child. She was later arrested. Police Spokesperson, Tintswalo Sibeko says the suspect led to the discovery of the remains.
“A second suspect, a man believed to be a sangoma was arrested in connection to the disappearance of Kutlwano and during preliminary investigations, he led the police to a shallow grave in the town of Bekkersdal, where the remains of a toddler were discovered. The remains are suspected to be of Kutlwano, but DNA analysis will be performed to determine the identity of the corpse. The mother and the sangoma will appear before the Vanderbiljpark Magistrate’s Court June 02, to answer on charges of murder and human trafficking," Sibeko said.
