This comes in the wake of explosive claims by KwaZulu-Natal province Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, who alleged that Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has been in regular contact with individuals suspected of criminal activity.
Mkhwanazi further accused high-ranking SAPS officials of being involved in corruption, raising serious concerns about the leadership and direction of the country’s law enforcement structures.
Opposition parties have described the allegations as deeply troubling and say they demand immediate scrutiny through a formal parliamentary process. Some are calling for an independent probe to ensure accountability and restore public trust in the justice system.
