SAWS issues level two disruptive snow warning for KZN province

The South African Weather Services (SAWS) has issued an alert level two weather warning of disruptive snows for areas in the Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) province.

A number of other alerts are currently active across the province including a level four warning for damaging winds and strong waves along the coastal areas. Spokesperson for the provincial Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Senzelwe Mzila says the provincial disaster management centre is on high alert.

“The Member of Executive Council has engaged a number of municipalities as well as part of the departments management plans to ensure that public facilities are made available should they need arise. We have not had any incidents right now but our teams are monitoring the situation on the ground.
