SA province put plans in place to fight Bilharzia outbreak

South African Limpopo government says it has put plans in place to fight the Bilharzia outbreak in the Tzaneen area. More than 150 incidents have been recorded so far.

The first outbreak recorded was from 142 learners at the Malwandla primary school at Petanenge village.

Other cases were also reported in areas such as Nkowankowa township, Khujwana and Dan villages. Office of the premier Spokesperson Thilivhali Muavha says they have established a task team to coordinate efforts to contain the outbreak,” So in response to this outbreak, the Limpopo provincial government has swiftly established a provincial task team which  includes representatives from the Office of the Premier, the Department of Health, the Department of Education, and the Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements, and Traditional Affairs, Mopani District Municipality together with their local municipalities. The provincial government assures all residents that every effort is being made to address this health crisis.”
