Bail application for two accused in AKA murder case

Date: Jan 9, 2025

Two of the five men accused of the murder of South African (SA) rapper Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes are set to apply for bail in the Durban Magistrate's Court later on Thursday morning.

The court appearance of Mziwethemba Gwabeni and Lindokuhle Ndimande is based on new facts that have emerged in the case.

Previously, both Gwabeni and Ndimande, along with three other accused, were denied bail. The charges stem from the tragic incident in February 2023, when Forbes and his friend, Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane, were fatally shot outside a restaurant in Durban.

In addition to the five accused, two other suspects were apprehended in eSwatini. These suspects are awaiting a court ruling on their extradition to SA.

The bail application and the ongoing legal proceedings continue to draw significant public attention, as the case remains a high-profile matter in SA.
