According to the health authorities, the Israeli military operation in Gaza over the past 24 hours resulted in 10 deaths and 73 injuries.
Meanwhile, the Hamas-run media office said in a press statement over the weekend that the number of journalists killed in Gaza as a result of the conflict had risen to 151.
In a press statement posted on its social media platform X on yesterday, the United Nations (UN) Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East said since the outbreak of the conflict, 193 colleagues had been killed, the highest death toll in the UN history.
It also said that Gaza is one of the most dangerous places in the world for aid workers.
Moreover, despite the announcement made by the Israeli military over the weekend that it would pause fighting daily in its offensive operations in the southern Gaza Strip to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid, residents and medical workers there told the media that the Israeli attacks on Gaza had persisted on yesterday.
The Israeli army on yesterday burned down the departure hall on the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, rendering it out of service, Palestinian security sources said.
In a statement, Hamas described the burning of the departure building and other facilities inside Rafah crossing as a "criminal act and barbaric behaviour within the framework of a continuing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza."
Israel has been waging a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip to retaliate against a Hamas rampage through the southern Israeli border on October 7, 2023, during which about 1 200 people were killed and more than 200 taken hostage.
