While this may be a common reality, it's not as widely supported as it should be. 

Dr. Fewster has looked into the challenges and finding that the nature of care for autistic children can cause mental and physical health issues for the parents. 
 
Dr. Fewster explains how parents of Autistic children can be better supported. 

"They supposed to have home programs that should be given to the child, so that the parent is integral part of that care team and rehab team for the child. But in my research, it shows that parents with autistic children have even more stresses than others."
