Mnisi, 39, appeared briefly before the same court, last week, where he faced a charge of premeditated murder, among others. This after the 14-year-old's child’s mutilated body was discovered in a veld near her home in in the city of Johannesburg, earlier this month, a day after she was reported missing.
Gauteng National Prosecuting Authority Spokesperson, Phindi Mjonondwane says the state will oppose Mnisi's bail application as he has previous convictions of robbery and attempted murder.
“The matter has been postponed to June 18, to allow the state to conclude its investigation in respect of the bail application that the accused wants to bring before court so it will include the profiling of the accused checking whether or not he has any previous convictions and whether or not he has any other cases against him, as well as whether or not he was previously released on parole," Mjonondwane said.
