SA Police Union lambast offices who are linked to crimes against women

The Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (POPCRU) in the Gauteng Province, have lambasted South African Police Service (SAPS) officials who are linked to crimes against women in the country, especially sexual violence.

To raise awareness about such unlawful incidents and to call for receive action in order to create safer spaces for police work environments, POPCRU members have been staging pickets at various police academy training centres in Gauteng. 

This follows alleged disturbing allegations that certain SAPS training institutions have become breeding grounds for unchecked sexual exploitation, harassment, and abuse.
