Mafole was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting on the R23 in Kempton Park, East of Johannesburg, on Monday.

The motive for his killing is being investigated by the police.

Gauteng Police Spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says they found the victim lying in his car with gunshot wounds.

"According to information received, the victim was driving on R23 Road when he was shot by an unknown suspect. The motive of the shooting is unknown at this stage, and police investigations continue."

The City of Ekurhuleni says it is co-operating fully with police to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is urged to contact the police.
