He says it is a time to reflect on the relationships among the ten parties within the Government of National Unity (GNU).
The comments comes as tensions mount between the ANC and the Democratic Alliance (DA), after the DA voted against the 2025 national budget and launched a legal challenge to the proposed value-added tax hike.
Speaking ahead of the NWC meeting, Ramaphosa stressed that the government must be guided by the best interests of SA.
“We are going to be taking decisions on the basis of our consideration and evaluation of everything that has happened,” he said. “What has happened clearly requires proper examination of what the parties have been putting on the table and, more importantly, how the relationship between parties should move forward.”
Ramaphosa added that the discussion would be grounded in the impact of recent developments.
“We enter into that process of discussion knowing very well that we’ve got to examine the impact of everything that has happened, and we will be driven by what is important for the people of SA.”
