The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) launched the strike, which hit a military airport in the city, marking the first time RSF attacks have reached Port Sudan, the de facto capital of Sudan’s military-led government since the conflict began two years ago.

No injuries were reported, though the attack caused limited damage. 

The RSF has not issued a statement on the incident. 

The AU said it will continue to monitor the situation closely.
