Residents of Musina want better policing at Beitbridge Border

Date: Jan 1, 2025

Residents in villages along the Beitbridge Border outside Musina in Limpopo have voiced their concerns about the porous fence between South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Some locals believe that a proper border fence could help curb undocumented foreign nationals and illicit goods from entering into the country. This as Deputy Police Minister Polly Boshielo, border management authorities and other government officials are monitoring the activities at the port-of-entry.

Residents want the authorities to address community safety and security.

“We would like to tell the Deputy Minister to add more police and have more resources like vehicles, also to buy more drones so that we’ll see criminals passing South Africa without proper documents. That’s what we request from the Deputy Minister.”
