The passing of "Cobra, Mokwepa" as known by many was confirm by his agency.

His family says they are on their way to Pretoria, Gauteng Province, to his residence before they can give more details.     

This after the news broke on social media on Tuesday morning.

The actor rose to prominence for his starring role in Tsotsi, which won the Academy Award for Foreign Language Film at the 78th Academy Awards. 

The iconic actor "Mokwepa" played many roles that expressed different characters in several series and films.

Chweneyagae was born in Mahikeng in the North West Province, in 1984, where he kick-started his career.
