Date: Apr 16, 2025

The South Africa’s (SA) Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) says 1 155 vehicles have been impounded for violating the traffic regulations since the start of the Easter road safety campaign in March..

The RTMC has advised public transport operators to ensure that they have appropriate permits.

This as travellers head to holiday destinations and places of worship during the Easter long weekend.

RTMC Spokesperson Simon Zwane, "We are making a special appeal to public transport operators to ensure that their vehicles are in a roadworthy state and their drivers are also fit to drive vehicles as we approach the Easter long weekend. Operators must also respect regulations pertaining to the routes that they may use."
